Bridgette M. Bennett is currently a third year law student at Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, Florida. She is the former Vice President of the Black Law Student Association and the 2009 recipient of the Florida Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Scholarship. Prior to moving to South Lake County, Bridgette lived in Washington, DC for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Government from Georgetown University in 2000, and subsequently worked for the Corporate Executive Board, as a Senior Research Manager in the Financial Services division. As an active member in her community and a native of Kingston, Jamaica, Bridgette is the co-founder of the Caribbean Business Links (CBL), a South Lake County-based group that seeks to bring business owners together to create opportunities for business development and referrals, while sponsoring community events to highlight the rich history and culture of the Caribbean. CBL’s vision is three-fold (E³) – the group aims to Empower, Educate, and Edify its members and the community at large. For her work in the community, Bridgette was recognized by the Women’s Council of Realtors, as a 2009 recipient of the Royal Ascot Model Citizen Award.
Bridgette consistently emphasizes that “Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me.” She became a faithful disciple of Christ in January 2002 and is passionate about encouraging and empowering God’s children to fulfill their greatest potential in Christ. She enjoys sharing God’s Word in a practical, down to earth manner and has taught on a variety of topics including: “Possessing the Secret of Joy,” “Breaking the Boundaries of Fear & Birthing Your God Given Potential,” and “The Surrendered Wife.” The Lord called her to start a group that was dedicated to encouraging and equipping women to stand for their marriages, regardless of its present condition. In September 2009, Sarah’s Daughters Bible Study was born. Bridgette has been married to her sweetheart, Wayne, for 10 years – their marriage is a true testament to the power of the Word and prayer in restoring and preserving what God has blessed and called holy. They have three beautiful children, Tracy Ann, Brianna and Stephen.
A native of Gary, Indiana, Kameka currently serves as Senior Trainer for Assurant Specialty Property in Atlanta, Georgia. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and later re-dedicated her life in October, 1997. Kameka states, “There came a time in my life when enough was enough. Negative thoughts consumed me and I knew I had to regain my relationship with Christ in order to be totally free.”
Kameka earned a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University. Later, she also earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Master’s of Science degree in Human Resources Development at Indiana State University. Her professional background includes training & development, recruiting, project management, and human resources. She is also a breast cancer awareness advocate and dedicates volunteer time to extend help in this area to empower women with knowledge of the disease.
Kameka has been married to her husband Major for 11 years and they have three children. Her involvement with Sarah’s Daughters, Inc., is a direct reflection of her strong belief in God’s promises and her passion to help women across the world. The Book of Psalm is Kameka’s favorite book in the bible. The following scripture always speaks to Kameka’s spirit in trying times: “In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3
